Imagination Games

“Untold treasures are found in the imagination of a child.”

1. Imagination Riddle Game: What Do I Have In My Pockets?

Play this game with someone in the room or yard with you.

Look around the room or yard. Select an object. Then say to your partner, “What do I have in my pockets?”

Now your partner must guess the object you are thinking about.

Your partner is allowed to ask you YES OR NO questions. You must answer the questions with a YES or a NO. (If you are not sure, it is OK to say “I don’t know.” My friend Victoria helped me realize this choice works fine in this game when it is needed.)

Here are some examples of YES or NO questions.

SIZE question: Is it bigger than your hand?

COLOR question: Is it red?

TASTE question: Can you eat it?
Think of more YES or No questions you can ask.

When your partner guesses correctly, it is your partner’s turn to think of an object, and it is your turn to ask YES or NO questions. Continue taking turns for as long as you’d like to play this game.
