Overview

Global Kids Connect convenes the best lineup of expert speakers to educate publishing professionals and propel the next generation of publishing advancements.

Publishers Weekly and the Bologna Children’s Book Fair present the third annual groundbreaking conference about children’s and YA publishing both here in the U.S. and abroad.

The only U.S. conference devoted exclusively to children’s publishing, Global Kids Connect delivers breaking bookselling and retail data, the latest international marketplace intelligence, and key trends that impact how books are made, marketed and sold. It is considered a must-attend event by publishers, marketers, acquiring editors, licensing agents, brand managers and rights professionals.

Following the conference is Celebration!, the annual party honoring recipients of PW Children’s Starred Reviews.

See the entire list of Children’s Starred Review recipients.

Looking ahead into 2018.* Global Kids Connect will expand its content offerings into and throughout 2018. In addition to the conference, Global Kids Connect will host three subsequent panels in 2018. This new format will provide opportunities for publishing professionals at all stages of their careers to participate in one, a few or all events throughout the year leading up to Global Kids Connect 2018.

*Separate registration will apply.

Agenda:

Kristen McLean of The NPD Group | NPD BookScan will present a data-rich overview of the state of children’s publishing, breakdowns on what formats, topics and categories are hot (and
not), consumer behaviors impacting retail sales, emerging trends that should be on every publishing professional’s radar screen and key takeaways to implement now.
